Ms. Nobathembu Letsoenyo, the Librarian at the Shaw Library, provides the below review of the winning entry.

This is a candid account of personal struggles and the journey to recovery. It is about perseverance, grit, and the love and support of family and friends. The triumphant end gives hope to other young people in similar circumstances. Written in an engaging first person, the language is simple yet articulate. It flows logically as the writer takes us through the emotional highs and the lows of her life experience. “My Journey” is a worthy winner of the “Write Your Story” competition for Spring 2023.
