AIU Proudly Hosted Space Week 2025: A Celebration of Regional Innovation & Discovery

AIU proudly hosted Space Week 2025, a three-day celebration of space science, innovation, and discovery from April 6 to 8 at the AIU campus. The event brought together renowned astronauts, industry experts, students, and space enthusiasts to ignite conversations about the future of space exploration. 

Day 1: The Future of Space Exploration 

April 6, 2025 | 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM | AIU Auditorium 

Space Week launched with an awe-inspiring presentation led by UAE's own H.E. Dr. Sultan Al Neyadi, joined by Astronaut Mohammad AlMulla and Astronaut Nora AlMatrooshi. The trio shared personal stories, insights, and ambitions for the future of human spaceflight and interplanetary missions. 

Attendees also explored high-grade astronomical equipment at the IKARUS exhibition, which showcased cutting-edge telescopes and astrophotography tools. The Kuwait Astronomical Society (KAS) added an educational layer to the day, sharing valuable resources and deepening the audience's understanding of Kuwait’s growing astronomical community. 

Day 2: Women in Aerospace 

April 7, 2025 | 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM | AIU Auditorium 

The second day focused on celebrating the achievements of women in the aerospace industry. A powerful panel discussion titled "Women Shaping Aerospace Then & Now" featured Ms. Lama Aloraiman, Ms. Ksenia Ozkok, and Ms. Valeriya Barashkova. Each speaker offered a unique perspective on the challenges and milestones women have faced—and continue to conquer—in the world of aerospace. Shape

Day 3: Capturing the Universe 

April 8, 2025 | 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM | AIU Auditorium 

Space Week concluded with a day dedicated to creative and technological innovation in space science. Mr. Abdulla AlHarbi captivated the audience with 'Through the Lens - Astrophotography', a presentation showcasing the art and science of photographing the cosmos. 

Following that, Mr. Bader Al Moulah inspired the crowd with Orbit Your Own Path: Redefining 98ÌÃapp's Possible, a talk that encouraged aspiring space professionals to carve their own way in the industry. The final session, The Future of 3D Printing Beyond Our Planet, led by AIU faculty, explored how advanced manufacturing could reshape our approach to space travel and off-Earth living. Shape

Looking Ahead 

AIU Space Week 2025 was a resounding success—an unforgettable experience filled with inspiration, knowledge-sharing, and a sense of wonder. Hosting the UAE astronauts for the first time in Kuwait marked a historic milestone, and AIU is proud to have brought such a visionary event to life. 

We’re already looking to the stars in anticipation of what Space Week 2026 will bring.
